Santa Susana Field Laboratory – Area IV SEC Dates Expanded

Earlier this year, Area IV of the Santa Susana Field Laboratory expanded their SEC Dates. Now, Department of Energy employees, contractors, and subcontractors who worked in Area IV may be eligible for EEOICPA Compensation if they meet other eligibility requirements.

Employees who worked in Area IV of the Santa Susana Field Laboratory between January 1st, 1965 and December 31st, 1988 and have developed one of the 22 approved cancers may be eligible for $150,000 in EEOICPA Compensation.

On January 6, 2017, the Secretary of Health and Human Services designated the following class for addition to the SEC in a report to Congress:

All employees of the Department of Energy, its predecessor agencies, and their contractors or subcontractors who worked in any area of Area IV of the Santa Susana Field Laboratory in Ventura County, California from January 1, 1965, through December 31, 1988, for a number of work days aggregating at least 250 work days, occurring either solely under this employment or in combination with work days within the parameters established for one or more other classes of employees included in the SEC.
